What can you expect at our Friday beginner Salsa, Bachata, and Cumbia classes in Chicago?
Friday nights are perfect for learning how to dance Salsa, Bachata, and Cumbia in a fun, relaxed environment. At Dennis PaSamba Dance Company, our beginner lessons prepare you for any social dance floor in Chicago. You will learn essential rhythms, fundamental timing, and basic lead-and-follow mechanics step by step.
You do not need to bring a partner to attend our Friday group classes. During each session, partners rotate constantly. Rotating partners helps you learn faster, adapts your technique to different dance styles, and lets you connect with fellow students in a friendly setting.
Our curriculum covers three core Latin dance styles. Salsa brings bright energy and rhythmic turns. Bachata offers smooth side-to-side movement and clear basic steps. Cumbia adds distinct circular patterns and easy footwork. Mastering all three gives you the skills to dance comfortably at any Latin social event.
Group classes are priced at $95 for a 4-week series. This straightforward pricing allows you to build a consistent weekly dance routine without breaking the bank. Each week builds on the previous lesson so you feel continuous progress.

What makes our Friday social different from group lessons?
Our Friday Social is a distinct event, separate from the 4-week group sessions. It is specifically designed as an accessible and fun entry point for new dancers. For just $15, you get a short introduction to salsa, bachata, and cumbia, followed by open practice time.
This is a perfect opportunity to apply what you've learned in a casual setting. You can meet other dancers and experience the energy of a Latin social dance environment. It is ideal for those who want a taste of Latin dancing without committing to a full session.
How does the Friday Social enhance your dance journey?
The Friday Social offers a relaxed atmosphere to hone your new skills. After the short lessons, the floor opens for practice, letting you dance at your own pace. This helps build muscle memory and confidence in a supportive community setting.
It's a great way to reinforce the basic steps and turns you might have learned in a group class, or to simply enjoy dancing. Come to the Friday Social to refine your technique and enjoy the music with fellow dance enthusiasts.
To join the Friday Social, simply show up. The cost is $15 per person. We look forward to seeing you on the dance floor!
