Cumbia is a vibrant and energetic dance style. It comes from Colombia, with influences from indigenous, African, and European cultures. Our classes focus on the basic steps and rhythms of Cumbia. You will learn partner work and solo movements. It's a great way to enjoy music and get some exercise.
Our studio provides a welcoming and fun environment for all students. You do not need a partner to enroll in Cumbia classes. We rotate partners in class so everyone gets to dance with different people. This helps you improve your leading and following skills. It also makes for a very social and engaging class experience. Our instructors are friendly and patient. They guide you through each step. You will build confidence on the dance floor week by week.
Each Cumbia session runs for four weeks. The cost for a 4-week session is $95. This fee covers all your class time and instruction. We encourage consistent attendance to get the most out of your learning. If you happen to miss a week, don't worry. You can make up missed classes during another session. After your Cumbia session, you can practice your new skills at our Friday Socials. These socials are held at the studio. They are a casual way to dance and socialize. The cost for a Friday Social is $15. It's a wonderful opportunity to apply what you've learned. Please remember, the Friday Social is a practice session. It is not a substitute for a regular class.
