Class is in English
Teaching and counting happen in English, so the whole room stays together.
The music is salsa
Songs are mostly in Spanish. If you grew up with salsa playing at home, the rhythm may already feel familiar. No Spanish is required to dance.
Dance with Confidence, Regardless of Language
Salsa is a universal language spoken through movement and music. Our classes embrace this, bringing together students from diverse backgrounds. Whether you prefer to learn in Spanish or English, our teaching method supports everyone. We focus on clear demonstrations and step-by-step guidance. This visual approach helps bridge any language gaps in the classroom. You will learn the foundational steps and turns, building a strong base for your salsa journey. The energy of the music and the supportive atmosphere create an engaging learning space. No matter your first language, you will feel at home on the dance floor. Join us to experience the joy of salsa.
Building Community Through Movement
Our studio is a place where friendships blossom alongside dance skills. Sharing the experience of learning salsa creates natural connections among students. You'll meet people who share your enthusiasm for Latin dance and culture. Many of our students enjoy practicing together before or after class. The shared passion for salsa transcends spoken language. You might find yourself communicating more through movement and shared laughter. This community aspect is a big part of what makes our classes special. It's more than just learning steps; it's about connecting with others. Everyone is welcome to be part of our growing dance family. Come and share your love for salsa with us.
After your class, feel free to stay and chat with fellow students. We often see people making plans to practice or attend our Friday Social together. These interactions enrich the learning experience. Our studio is located at 4820 W. Irving Park Rd., Chicago, IL 60641. It's easy to find in the Six Corners area with free parking available. We are always happy to answer any questions you have. Just Text/Call 717-PaSamba (717-727-2622).
What to Expect in Your First Class
Your first salsa class will introduce you to the basic rhythm and steps. Our instructors break down each movement into manageable parts. You will learn the fundamental 'basic step' and common turns. We start slowly, ensuring everyone can follow along. No prior dance experience is required, just a willingness to try. Group classes are 4-week sessions, and no partner is needed. Partners rotate during class, so you dance with everyone. This helps you adapt to different leads and follows, improving your overall skill. All classes are for adults. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that allow for easy movement. We want you to feel relaxed and ready to dance from the start. Missed weeks can be made up; however, no refunds are offered. The focus is on learning and having fun in a supportive environment. Our goal is to make salsa accessible and enjoyable for all.
