Cumbia Sonidera is a unique style of music and dance that grew out of Mexico City neighborhood sound systems, or sonidos. It features heavy basslines, slowed-down tropical beats, and distinctive voiceovers from DJs. Dancing to Sonidero music requires specific footwork, smooth turns, and strong connection with your partner. Our workshops teach you how to feel the rhythm and express yourself confidently on the dance floor whether you are a beginner or experienced.
At Dennis PaSamba Dance Company, we break down Sonidero moves step by step. You will learn the foundational side-to-side steps, back breaks, and signature body turns that make Cumbia Sonidera so popular. Our instructors focus on clear counts, proper weight transfers, and practical partner leading or following techniques. We make sure every student gets personal feedback during class so you can master the dance style with real confidence and ease.
