Fun and Energetic Swing
Swing dance is all about energy, rhythm, and connection. Our progressive 4-week course covers everything you need to feel comfortable on the dance floor. Whether you have two left feet or some previous experience, our instructors will help you find your rhythm and enjoy the music.
Our classes are designed to be a social experience where you can meet new people, get some exercise, and most importantly, have fun. We focus on the classic movements that make Swing a timeless favorite for dancers of all ages.
Swing: A Social Experience
One of the best things about Swing dance is the community. At Dennis PaSamba Dance Company, we foster a friendly and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome. You'll have the chance to dance with many different partners, as we rotate throughout each class.
This rotation not only helps you become a better dancer by learning to lead and follow different people, but it also makes the class a great way to make new friends in the Irving Park and Portage Park areas.
Swing Styles and Techniques
Our courses cover the fundamental techniques of Swing, including the basic steps, turns, and connection between partners. We emphasize a relaxed and bouncy style that is characteristic of social Swing dancing. You'll learn how to interpret the music and add your own flair to the dance.
As you progress through our levels, you'll be introduced to more complex patterns and footwork. Our goal is to give you the confidence to dance to any Swing music, whether it's at our Friday Social or a live band event.
