Will I Dance With The Same Person Every Week in Group Dance Classes?

In our four-week group classes, you will not dance with the same person every week. We use a partner rotation system during every lesson. This means leads and follows move around the room every few minutes. Rotating partners helps everyone practice leading and following different body types and movement styles. It builds your confidence much faster than staying with just one partner. You also get to meet many friendly classmates.

You never need to bring a partner to sign up for a group class. Single dancers can register without worrying about finding someone to come along. Because we rotate partners constantly, no one gets left standing on the sidelines without someone to dance with during class. Group classes cost $95 for 4 weeks at our studio. This rotating format ensures that every student gets equal time practicing all the steps learned.

Rotating partners helps you learn the true mechanics of social dancing. When you dance with the same person every week, you might accidentally adapt to their personal habits or mistakes. By switching partners regularly, you learn how to give clear leads and respond to clear follows. This makes you a much better social dancer outside of class. You will feel comfortable dancing with anyone on any dance floor in Chicago.

What if you come to class with a friend or a romantic partner? Many couples ask if they are required to switch partners during group lessons. While we strongly encourage everyone to participate in the rotation for better learning, partner rotation creates a relaxed, low-pressure environment. Our studio is located at 4820 W. Irving Park Rd. in Chicago, in the Six Corners area of Irving Park. Parking is convenient because we have free parking available for all of our students. Joining a group class is a great way to meet local neighbors while learning new skills. The 4-week course structure gives you plenty of time to dance with everyone in the room over the month.

Each lesson is designed to be fun, structured, and welcoming for dancers of all skill levels. You will quickly get comfortable changing partners as the instructor guides the class.
