Class Structure
Group classes are 4-week sessions. Each session builds on the last.
You will learn fundamental bachata steps and turns. We focus on lead and follow techniques.
Your instructors break down each movement clearly. There is plenty of time to practice in class.
We review previous material at the start of each class. This helps reinforce what you learned.
Classes run for one hour each week. We include a short warm-up and cool-down.
Our goal is to get you comfortable dancing bachata socially. We want you to enjoy the music and movement.
We teach in a friendly, encouraging environment. Everyone learns at their own pace. Do not worry about mistakes; they are part of learning.
We encourage questions during class. Our instructors are happy to help you understand.
You will meet new people who share your interest in bachata. It's a great way to make friends.
After four weeks, you can move to the next level. Or you can repeat a level to perfect your skills.
Many students repeat levels for extra practice. This solidifies their foundation. It helps them feel more confident.
You can sign up for the next session easily online. We post the new schedules well in advance. Keep an eye on our website for updates.
What to Bring & Wear
Wear comfortable clothing you can move in easily. Layers are good, as you might get warm.
Comfortable shoes are important. Avoid shoes with too much grip. Dance shoes are ideal but not required for beginners.
Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. We have a water cooler available for refills.
A small towel can be useful if you tend to sweat. You want to feel comfortable throughout the class.
We recommend leaving valuables at home or securing them. We are not responsible for lost items.
Come with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. That's the most important thing.
You do not need special equipment. Just bring yourself and your enthusiasm.
Some students like to take notes. Feel free to bring a small notebook and pen if you wish.
We want you to feel relaxed and ready to dance. Choose attire that allows for full range of motion. Tight jeans might not be the best choice.
Making Up Missed Classes
If you miss a week, you can make it up. We understand that life happens.
You can attend another bachata group class within the current session. This helps you stay on track.
Check our class schedule for available make-up options. We try to offer flexibility.
Please notify us in advance if you plan to make up a class. This helps us manage class sizes.
Make-ups must be completed within your enrolled 4-week session. They do not carry over to future sessions.
Missed weeks cannot be exchanged for cash or credit. There are no refunds for missed classes.
The Friday Social is for practice. It is not a substitute for a missed group class.
We encourage you to make up any missed classes quickly. This keeps your learning consistent. It helps you keep up with the group.
If you know you will miss a class, try to plan your make-up early. This gives you more options.
Our goal is for you to get the most out of your session. We want you to learn bachata. Make-ups are offered to support your progress.
