Planning guide

How Many Wedding Dance Lessons Do You Need

The short answer: three lessons for a simple first dance, six if a parent dance is part of the night. The number depends less on talent and more on how much music you want to fill and how many people are dancing.

Three lessons: a simple first dance

Three hours is enough for a two-to-three-minute song with a clear start, one turn, one dip and a clean finish. The 3-lesson package is $399 for the couple. Plan one lesson a week or one every other week so the steps settle between visits.

Six lessons: first dance plus a parent dance

If a father-daughter, mother-son or other parent dance is on the schedule, choose the 6-lesson package at $749 for the couple. The extra hours go to the second routine and to a longer or more detailed first dance if you want one.

When to book them

Start 6–8 weeks before the wedding for three lessons. That leaves room for a rescheduled week and for practice at home. With six lessons, start earlier so both dances get time.

  • 3 lessons — $399 for the couple
  • 6 lessons — $749 for the couple, includes a parent dance

Questions people ask

Can we add a lesson later?

Yes. If you finish three and want one more polish session before the day, text 717-PaSamba to add it.

Is one lesson ever enough?

One lesson gives you a sway, a turn and an ending. It works for a relaxed couple who just wants to feel less awkward, but it is not a full routine.
