Floor Craft and Spatial Awareness
One of the biggest challenges for new dancers is navigating a crowded social floor. Our Portage Park salsa classes include specific training on 'floor craft.' You'll learn how to keep your moves compact, how to avoid collisions with other couples, and how to maintain your own space while dancing. This makes you a safer and more desirable partner in any social setting.
We also focus on the etiquette of the dance floor. This includes how to ask someone to dance, how to accept or politely decline, and the general 'unwritten rules' of the salsa club scene. Our goal is to make you feel comfortable and confident, whether you're at a local Portage Park event or a big salsa social downtown.

Because our studio is at 4820 W. Irving Park Rd., it's a central hub for Portage Park residents. You'll meet neighbors and make new friends during our partner rotations. Join Our Friday Socials
The best way to practice what you learn in class is at our Friday Socials, held on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month. These events start with a salsa lesson at 7:00 PM, followed by hours of open dancing. It's the perfect opportunity for Portage Park students to test their new skills in a real-world social environment for just $15 at the door.
Our 4-week salsa courses are priced at $95, providing a structured path to social proficiency.
