Two brides

Two Brides First Dance

A two-brides first dance has its own practical questions: who leads, how two gowns share the floor, and which song fits you both.

Who leads

Whoever hears the count more easily usually leads. You can also hand the lead over at the chorus so each bride gets a turn.

The dip in two dresses

The supporting bride needs a clear, wide stance, so we check where her skirt falls before choosing the dip. Keep it low the first few times, and test it in the real dresses or long practice skirts.

Song choice

Choose by tempo. A slow song suits bachata or a sway; a faster one suits a salsa turn. Then check that the lyrics fit the two of you.

Questions people ask

Can we both wear heels?

Yes. Practice in them so both of you know how they feel on the turn.
