What to Expect in Your Cumbia Class
Our Cumbia classes are structured for effective learning. We break down steps into easy-to-follow movements. You will learn basic Cumbia steps first. This includes the 'paseo' and partner turns. We focus on rhythm, timing, and posture. Understanding the music is a key part of Cumbia. Our instructors will guide you through musicality exercises. Partners rotate frequently during class. This helps everyone learn to lead and follow. It also gives you a chance to dance with different people. You'll get comfortable dancing with anyone on the social floor. Classes are held in our spacious studio. We have plenty of room for comfortable movement. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Anything you can move freely in is fine. Leather-soled shoes are often preferred, but not required. Just make sure your shoes stay securely on your feet. Each 4-week session builds your skills.
